What I'll Do - The Border Integrity and Humanity Plan - BIHP
- Secure and Smart Borders: Modernize physical and digital border infrastructure simultaneously. This includes deploying advanced sensor technology, long-range surveillance systems, and AI-driven data analytics to track illicit activity. This modernization must be paired with increasing the number of trained, professional border agents and providing them with the necessary technology and support.
- Overhaul Legal Pathways: Dramatically overhaul the legal immigration process to clear backlogs that have spanned decades. Digitize the application process, prioritize efficiency for high-demand skilled visas, and create clear, orderly pathways for family reunification to stabilize communities and reduce reliance on illegal crossings.
- Efficient Asylum and Resources: Increase funding and personnel for the immigration court system to swiftly and fairly adjudicate asylum claims—reducing processing time from years to months. Establish dedicated humanitarian processing centers equipped with medical and legal resources to manage the flow humanely and efficiently.
- Targeting Criminal Organizations: Target traffickers and cartels directly by establishing coordinated, inter-agency federal task forces with the sole purpose of disrupting their financial networks and seizing assets. Utilize intelligence and targeted enforcement actions to dismantle organizations that profit from human suffering and illegal border crossings.
Why It Matters
A broken border system harms everyone: it endangers migrants, undermines the rule of law, and burdens communities. We can secure our nation through smart technology and professional enforcement while finally establishing the clear, orderly legal pathways our economy and shared humanity require.
