Campaign Finance Reform

What I Believe

Money shouldn’t decide elections. I support strict limits, full transparency, and ending the influence of big donors over our democracy.

The Problem: The Corporate Takeover of Democracy

Our elections are dominated by billion-dollar Super PACs and secretive dark money groups, allowing a handful of ultra-wealthy individuals and corporations to drown out the voices of ordinary citizens. This concentration of funding corrupts the legislative process, ensuring politicians are accountable to their donors, not their constituents.

What I'll Do: The Congressional Integrity and Trust Act (CITA)

  • Maximum Contribution Limit: Institute a strict, hard-cap maximum of $100 per election cycle from any single individual to any political committee or campaign (federal, state, and local). This prevents any single donor from having outsized influence.
  • Public Matching Funds System: Implement a voluntary, publicly funded system that matches small-dollar donations (e.g., a 6:1 match for every dollar raised under $100). This empowers grassroots movements and frees candidates from relying on wealthy donors.
  • End Dark Money: Mandate that all organizations involved in political spending, including 501(c)(4) “social welfare” groups, immediately and publicly disclose the source of all donations over $100. There will be no exceptions for “issue advocacy.”
  • Taxpayer Accountability: End all tax deductions for political advertising and lobbying expenses. The American taxpayer should not subsidize the process of corrupting their government.

Why It Matters

Democracy must be for the people, not for sale to the highest bidder.
